PFC Cynthia Giancaspro named Trooper of the first quarter 2008
PFC Giancaspro is being recognized as a result of her consistent contributions of time, effort and dedication for the good of the Troop. Most recently, PFC Giancaspro stepped forward to coordinate 2GHG’s participation in the Connecticut Horse Council. . PFC Giancaspro’s actions are indicative of her attitude to always “being ready to serve”.

CPL Lauren Chirgwin named Trooper of the fourth quarter 2007

CPL Chirgwin is being recognized as a result of her consistent contributions of time, effort and dedication for the good of the Troop. Most recently,  CPL Chirgwin stepped forward at our holiday function and led the color guard in a successful mission. CPL Chirgwin’s actions are indicative of her attitude to always “being ready to serve”.

2LT Jennifer Mazzara named 2007 Mursko award recipient

06-Jan-08 - Second Lieutenant Jennifer Taylor has been named the 2007 Major Edward Mursko award recipient. For outstanding achievement while serving as the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard’s Horse Officer and Training Officer during the period of 01 January 2007 to 31 December 2007.  Her dedication to duty and countless hours of tireless work allowed the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard to successfully run these events to a high standard.

2GHG Annual Election Results

CPT Pamela P. Berlekovic was elected for another term as Executive Officer for 2GHG by a majority vote. She will serve 2GHG in this capacity until January 2011.

SGT Cynthia Joyce was elected by a majority vote of her peers as 2GHG Cornet. 2LT Joyce will be responsible for all aspects of our flags. In addition to Cornet, 2LT Joyce will be responsible for 2GHG Operations.

SGT Jacqueline Sundblade receives 2007 Captains Award

December 06, 2008 - Sergeant Jacqueline Sundblade was awarded the Captains award for her dedicated service to the unit. Sergeant Sundblade has risen to become the head of the tack department through countless hours spend maintaining the gear our mounts wear as they carry us in parades and drills. Sergeant Sundblade's devotion to preserving our equipment in the best possible condition has earned her the respect of the Troop and we thank her for keeping us true to an important part of our cavalry tradition.

SGT Viets is being recognized as a result of her consistent contributions of time, effort and dedication for the good of the Troop.  Her assistance and participation in all events and during drill is indicative of her attitude to always “being ready to serve."
